Santa Barbara Peach is arguably the best-tasting peach for most homeowners in warm zones—and a favorite in California. It produces Elberta-quality fruits with yellow flesh, a melting, fine texture and beautiful red coloring near the pit. The peaches are delightfully sweet with an excellent peach flavor. They're attractive too, with a red blush over the yellow skin. The large, freestone fruits are tops for eating fresh. Fruits ripen in early to mid July. 200 chill hours required. 700-1000 chill hours are required for a successful harvest. Zones 8-10.
