This prolific, award-winning perennial yields lots of bold purple-pink, long-lasting flowers in its very first season, then shifts into overdrive to produce even more blooms the following years. A versatile and easy-care plant, it grows readily in nearly any type of soil, and maintains a strong tolerance to drought. The brightly colored flowers attract butterflies, pollinators and hummingbirds to the area, but deer tend to leave them alone. In fall, the dried seed heads provide much-needed food for backyard songbirds. Plant in sun to part shade. Zones 3-9
