Named in Honor of Benjamin Franklin

Discovered in 1765 by an American botanist, the Franklin Tree was named in honor of Benjamin Franklin! Ranging in height from about 10-25 ft. when mature, its glossy, dark green foliage fades into gorgeous shades of orange, red and purple in the fall but not before surprising you with bright-white, sweetly perfumed, late-summer blooms. Bareroot. Zones 6-8, can be grown in a protected area in Zone 5.

Fruit: Rounded fruit grows up to 1 inch in diameter. It is not particularly ornamental.
Zone: 6-8

Form: Tree
Flower Form: The 3-inch, bright white, five-petaled flowers have a pretty center boss of sunny yellow stamens, and perfume the air with their sweet fragrance.
Soil Requirements: Acidic Soil
Pruning: Remove dead, weak, and limbs that rub together.
Foliage: Attractive, glossy, dark green foliage. Leaves are narrow and oblong, up to 5 - 6 inches long. Deciduous. Beautiful fall color in shades of orange, red, and purple.
