Lettuce and onions are always the first produce to come out of the garden! My favorite to grow is the gurneysseed “Premium Lettuce Blend” because it seems to have every variety you could ever want! My grandfather’s is Gurney’s “Green Ice” so we grow both! #gurneysseedpartner Our vegetable garden this year is extra special. It’s been 4 years since I’ve been able to garden with my grandfather BigDaddy. Thanks to his hard dedication to physical therapy my grandmother’s patience and some fine docto

i'm so happy with how my lettuce is growing this season! it's been so strong through the cold. i mean seriously it was covered with snow two weeks ago for three days. and when i say covered with snow i mean covered with snow. just look at the video on slide 4. it was then again covered with ice last week pic 2! yet outside of just a little bit of burn from the cold this gifted @gurneysseed winter lettuce mix has held strong with steady growth. therefore i say quite happily let the grazin

The wettest Spring in 40 years out here sure made it the year of the lettuce in our garden! We’ve been eating lots of fresh salads. But my favorite dish I’ve been making using my gurneysseed premium blend lettuce (that I grew from seed) are these pretty little lettuce wraps. I fill them with a delicious ground turkey filling that includes fresh herbs and garlic scapes (also from the garden). Then I tie them like a package using chives. I decorate a few with edible flowers and leave some plain

Good Monday to you! After a cool down this weekend it’s going to be another week of weather and humidity. It’s been a little more work to keep the garden going during the high 90’s temps but everything is handling the heat just fine The key is to have healthy plants to begin with and keeping them hydrated. Early in the morning I give them a deep watering by the base of the plants. I hand water them since I don’t have an irrigation system set up yet. Meanwhile I just listen to the birds chir
