First Arrival Itoh Peony

Huge Flowers on Compact Plant

  • 6-8 in., lavender-pink flowers
  • 24-28 in. sturdy, compact bush
  • Attracts pollinators
  • Deer resistant
Whether planted as a specimen in the perennial garden or as a low hedge, First Arrival Itoh Peony will get noticed. Huge, 6-8 in., lavender-pink flowers open against dark green foliage in mid to late spring. The lightly scented flowers attract butterflies, bees and other pollinators. They're also excellent for cut-floral arrangements. The 24-28 in., sturdy, compact bushes hold up in the weather—and deer tend to pass them by. Itoh or intersectional hybrid peonies are a cross between herbaceous and tree peonies. First Arrival Itoh Peony performs best when planted in full sun to partial shade. Zones 3-8.
