A consistent and heavy annual producer, Stanley Plum is a longtime favorite among home gardeners. Developed nearly 100 years ago, this easy-to-grow variety bears medium to large, oval, dark blue fruits that are ideal for eating fresh, drying into prunes and canning. The freestone fruits have yellow-green flesh and are easy to pit—though they're sweet enough to dry without being pitted. This European plum tree is self-pollinating, making it a good choice for those with limited space for growing fruit trees. The fruits ripen in September. 700 chill hours are required for a successful harvest. Zones 5-8.
Now available in Reachables size! A Reachables tree produces full-sized fruits on a smaller tree. It's easier to fit into your garden or orchard, even a container will do fine! Thanks to state-of-the-art rootstock technology, these trees remain manageable throughout their life cycle, so a single person can prune, spray, net and harvest the tree, all while standing on the ground. No ladders required! Note: Because the full-sized fruits grow on smaller sized trees, Reachables require a tree support.
NOTE: We are unable to ship our trees to PO Boxes at this time.
