Huge fruit the size of quarter! Excellent quality and crispy "bite" of the firm flesh makes it to stop eating!  A late bloom period avoids many frosts, improving fruit set.Even with the late bloom, Spartan produces a very large and early crop.  Light blue fruit is highly flavored.  In demand for its dessert quality. Vigorous upright growth habit is ideal for an edible hedge or anywhere in your edible/ornamental landscape. Winter hardy to –13F. Vivid orange/red fall color. Zones 5-8. Harvest early to mid-season (In Southwestern Michigan beginning approximately July 10th, earlier in warmer zones)
