- Similar to popular Rainier cherry
- Good for fresh eating and Maraschino cherries
- Requires another sweet cherry for pollination
The attractive fruits and sweet flavor make Royal Ann Cherry a good pick for home gardeners. The semi-dwarf trees produce large fruits, blushed with red, and with a cream-colored flesh. The sun-ripened fruits are excellent for eating fresh, canning and making into Maraschino cherries. This popular cherry is similar to the Rainier cherry in taste and appearance. Royal Ann Cherry needs another cherry tree for pollination, and we recommend Black Tartarian. Fruits ripen early to mid-season. Requires 900 chill hours. Zones 5-8.
