One of the best peaches for home gardeners, Redskin Peach produces plenty of firm, sweet peaches that have just a bit of tang. The cling type fruits with non-browning, yellow flesh are excellent for fresh eating, freezing and other uses. The attractive fruits have yellow skins heavily blushed with deep red. A cross between the popular Red Haven and Elberta peaches, Redskin Peach is a vigorous, fast-growing tree and resistant to bacteriosis. Its fruits ripen in early August. Requires 750 chill hours. 750 chill hours are required for a successful harvest. Zones 6-8.
