One of the most popular varieties for onion sets, Sturon is a dual-purpose variety that produces flavorful green onions that are ready just weeks after planting—or allow them to mature and harvest plenty of flavorful, storage onions. Sturon produces very round bulbs with smooth, brown skin and a sweet, yellow flesh with a good, pungent flavor.

Growing Sturon Onion Sets

An early maturing variety, Sturon produces high yields and shows good resistance to bolting. Growing onions from sets is one of the easiest ways to grow onions. For bunching or green onions, plant just a few inches apart. For storage onions, space 4-5 in. apart.
