Yellow Quill Monster Mum

Unique sunny flowers with quill-shaped petals.

A true perennial that can withstand temperatures to -30°F ! Years of breeding result in plants 3-3 1/2' tall and up to 5' wide that form a perfect cushion shape, and bear hundreds of brightly unique sunny colored flowers that butterflies just love. Plant individually or as a hedge, and they'll brighten your garden in late summer and fall, when other plants are done. Easy and carefree – no pinching or deadheading required! Space 18-24" apart in average, well-drained soil. Zones 3-9. Ships in 3" Pot. Chrysanthemum morifolium. Full Sun to Partial Shade. Deer tend to avoid.

We continually monitor weather conditions for extreme hot or cold and adjust shipping schedules as needed. Due to hot weather conditions, we are unable to ship most plant items in July and August. Items that are overweight will require an additional shipping charge depending on weight.

In all cases, we choose the fastest, most efficient way to send your orders via the U.S. Postal Service or FedEx. Large orders or large items may be shipped to you in multiple packages.

Botanical Name: Chrysanthemum cushion yellow

Color: Yellow with Yellow pincushion centers.

Form: Perennial
Flower Form: Daisy type with rounded petals, 3 - 4" across
Soil Requirements: Well drained, moist, humus enriched soil.
Growth Rate: Fast once established, which takes approximately 2-3 weeks.
Pruning: You may pinch the growing tips at 6-8" tall to encourage lateral flowering. Generally pinching should stop around July 15-25 to allow plants to bloom at appropriate time in fall.
Foliage: Aromatic, alternate deeply lobed, dark green leaves, gray underneath.
