A popular shade tree for yards and parks, the Sugar Maple Tree is a long-lived hardwood tree with a dense, rounded crown and stunning, crimson and gold fall foliage. In addition to being an excellent shade tree, its sap is used for making maple syrup. Native to the eastern United States, the deciduous tree grows 60-75 ft. tall and performs best when planted in well-drained soils and away from road salt and urban pollution. For best results plant in full sun. Zones 3-8.
