The unique hard texture of this versatile red makes it the ideal storing onion. Large roots grow to 4 in. in diameter on strong, vigorous plants. Red Zeppelin Onion, a long-day variety, adapts easily to different environments; resists Crown Rot and other diseases for high yields. An excellent choice for adding color, crunch and flavor to sandwiches and salsa during fall and winter. Long-day onions, like Red Zeppelin, begin forming bulbs when daylight lasts 14-16 hours. They usually store well for many months. Because summer daylight hours are longer in the North, long-day onions are usually grown in the North. 90 DAYS.
