Enjoy gorgeous, round flowerheads all summer long with this Southern classic. A mophead-type hydrangea, Penny Mac flowers on old and new wood—so you'll get flowers all summer long. They'll be plenty of them too, so you can cut some for fresh and dried floral arrangements. To encourage better new bloom production, remove faded blooms. Penny Mac Reblooming Hydrangea is a flowering, deciduous shrub with a rounded habit. It grows 5-6 ft. tall. It's ideal for planting as a specimen plant or massing in a shrub border. Zones 6-9.

DepthDig a hole twice the size as the container and set the plant at the same level it is growing at in the container, firm soil and water thoroughly.

PruningWhen the old flower heads turn green, it signals the ideal time to prune your plants. First, cut off the faded flower heads with stems about 4 to 6 inches (hung upside down, these dry beautifully). To reduce the size of your bush, cut the heads with longer stems, and shorten any other shoots as needed to achieve the desired results. This type of pruning should be done by mid-July. Do not prune in winter.
