One of our favorite wax beans, Improved Golden Wax bears 4-5 in. blemish-free, bright yellow, stringless pods with a big, buttery flavor. The bush plants grow 16-18 in. tall with a minimal spread and don't require staking. Produces general crops, so you'll have plenty of colorful beans for eating fresh, canning or freezing. Because Improved Golden Wax matures earlier than many pole varieties, it's a favorite snap bean for Northern gardeners. To keep the plants producing, pick throughout the season. For best results, directly sow bean seeds into the garden soil after all danger of frost has passed. 50 DAYS.
