The honeyberry (also known as haskap berry) is a big and flavorful up-and-comer, especially in the Northern parts of the country, because of its ability to thrive in cooler climes. With its extra large and sweet fruit, Maxine's Opus is the pride of top berry breeder Dr. Maxine Thompson. Plant's open habit and big berries make it easy to pick. The Kawai Honeyberry is a strong grower that ripens very early. Long, blocky berry has a nice sweet-tart flavor. It's also a great pollinator for Maxine's Opus. Dormant. Zones 3-8.
