The blooms are beautiful too, with rich, velvety color and a luminous sheen. Let it climb up a trellis for a bright vertical display of many, many flowers. Collectors keep an eye out for the Vancouver Clematis series, as they're difficult to find in the U.S. They're bred to be free flowering, but the modern, compact habits make it possible to feature them in container gardening.
