Originating in Georgia in the 1800s, Belle of Georgia Peach Tree is still a star today. The trees produce good yields of "Georgia peaches" in northern climates. The rosy-colored, freestone fruits are large and firm with a super-sweet, juicy, white flesh. While they're very good for eating fresh, the fruits are favorites for canning, baking into pies and desserts and making into jams and preserves. The self-pollinating trees exhibit excellent disease resistance. Require 850 chill hours. Fruits ripen in August. 800 chill hours are required for a successful harvest. Zones 5-8.
