Star-shaped, white flowers with distinctive mahogany throats add refreshing color and fragrance to the late summer garden. The downward curving flowers look great in cut-floral displays, too! Also called Acidanthera murielae, Abyssinian Gladiolus has attractive, swordlike foliage and looks best when planted in clusters of six or more. Growing 24-36 in. tall, they're ideal for sunny borders or container gardening. To extend the bloom season, plant bulbs every 7-10 days. Deer tend to pass them by. Zones 3-10. Lift in fall in zones 3-6.
