Lilacs are a favorite shrub for home gardeners, and the Royalty Lilac, with its rich purple blooms and a fragrance that fills the air, is sure to please. A late-season variety, Royalty Lilac blooms a few weeks later than many other lilacs. Its dark purple buds open to a delightful lavender hue, often creating a two-toned effect. Growing 8-10 ft. tall with a slightly narrower spread, this lilac bush can be planted as a flowering hedge, privacy screen along property borders or as a backdrop for perennial flower beds. It's a low-maintenance, deciduous shrub that deer tend to avoid. For best results, plant in well-drained soil and in full sun.
