Purple Flame Phlox

Dwarf strain of perennial favorite!

  • Grows 16 inches tall
  • Blooms from midsummer to fall
  • Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds
  • Can be grown in containers
  • Deer tend to avoid
Growing just 16 inches tall, this compact version of the garden classic offers the colorful flower panicles that gardeners love—but it doesn't flop like many of the taller varieties. Purple Flame Phlox bears large, 4-6 in., bold purple flower panicles in the summer, and lures hummingbirds and butterflies to the garden. The flowers look impressive in cut-flower displays, too. This dwarf strain is ideal for planting in the sunny garden or containers. It exhibits very good mildew resistance as well. Deer tend to avoid. Zones 4-8.
