Oochigeas Itoh Peony

Unusual color combination

  • Pink, apricot and purple hues
  • Grows 24-28 in. tall
  • Blooms in late spring
  • Long-lived sun perennial
  • Deer tend to avoid
Large, double blooms open to reveal warm apricot and pink hues with touches of purple and a light fragrance that lingers in the spring air. This special Itoh peony is named in reference to a young woman in a Native American legend that's similar to Cinderella. A cross between herbaceous and tree peonies, Itoh peonies produce large flowers on manageable plants that seldom require staking. Their long-lasting, lush foliage adds to their beauty. Oochigeas Itoh Peony grows 24-28 in. tall and fits beautifully into the perennial garden or as a foundation planting. A long-lived perennial, deer tend to pass it by. For best results, plant in full sun to partial shade. Zones 3-9.
