This native fruit tree is often grown for its ornamental qualities, including showy flowers and pretty fall foliage, rather than its small fruits. Growing 8-10 ft. tall, the Native Plum Tree produces 1-inch fruits with red skins and yellow flesh. The fruits are sometimes used for jellies and preserves. Native to the eastern and central regions of North America, the Native Plum Tree is drought-tolerant, once established. It's often grown as a hedge or privacy screen. Two plants are required for pollination. Zones 3-8.
