This is one fun cabbage variety to grow! The heads get huge, often weighing more than 20 lbs. each—and they hold well without cracking. For such a large cabbage, it has a sweet, mild flavor. The interior leaves are white—and each head produces plenty for chopping into slaws or making into sauerkraut. Megaton Hybrid Cabbage plants exhibit good disease resistance and have performed well in clay-type soils. Cabbage is a cool season crop, and seeds are usually started indoors and seedlings are transplanted to the garden when spring days are still cool. 105 DAYS.
