Extend the iris season with this dramatic, multiple award winner. Black Gamecock Louisiana Iris features very deep purple, nearly black, 4-6 in. flowers accented with golden yellow and green, strappy foliage. The blooms add drama and elegance to gardens and cut-flower displays. Because they thrive in moist conditions, they're ideal for planting in water gardens and along the edges of ponds and streams. They'll also perform in average soil. Blooming in early to midsummer, they attract hummingbirds. Deer tend to pass them by. Zones 4-10.
