Lemon Grass Plant

Asian Cuisine Classic

  • Scent and flavor of lemons
  • Repels mosquitoes
  • Fast-growing herb
Lemon Grass Plant is a favorite for planting near patios and porches because its lemony fragrance perfumes the air and helps repel mosquitoes. Growing 2-3 ft. tall, with thick masses of green and yellow stems, this herb is best when used fresh. Cut and crush the top portion for tea, or use the bottom part of the stalk for flavoring soups, curries, salads and fish. In northern regions, this tender perennial may be grown as an annual in the garden or grown in a container and brought indoors when the weather cools. Deer tend to avoid.
