Hinnomaki Red Gooseberry Plant

Sweetest of them All!

  • Large, ruby red berries
  • Fruits ripen in July
  • Mature plants bear 4-5 lbs. of fruit
A favorite in our taste tests, Hinnomaki Red Gooseberry produces large, deep red berries with crisp skins and a snappy tang followed by sweet flesh. The gooseberries look and taste fantastic when baked into pies or made into preserves and jams. The self-fertile plant bears fruit in the first year if planted early enough in the spring—and at maturity, the plant bears 4-5 lbs. of fruit. Hinnomaki Red Gooseberry is a Finnish variety that's mildew resistant and cold hardy. Fruits ripen in July. Zones 3-6.
