- Provides color in winter landscape
- Grows 3-4 ft. tall with similar spread
- Ideal for planting as hedge
- Rabbit and deer-resistant bush
Dark green leaves are appealing. Green Velvet's green color though-out the winter is why it is so widely planted in the moderate zones 5-8 (best in 6-8, may develop some burn in zone 5). Tolerant of rabbit and deer. Perfect when pruned to a low, formal hedge. Also, useful as a well-behaved foundation planting, or to outline a formal garden. Good for small spaces and container gardening. Most effective as a mass planted hedge. Drought tolerant. Tiny inconspicuous blossoms are fragrant. Zones 5-8.
