Dinnerplate dahlias are so huge, intensely bright and colorful that they're sure to stop onlookers in their tracks. They also make excellent cut flowers. The fully double blooms are without a central disc and come in a spectacular mix of colors. Our dinnerplate dahlia mix creates an outstanding late summer show, with the flowers blooming almost continuously from August until frost. Keep removing the flower heads as they fade, and you'll have more of them coming up to replace the spent blooms. The stems are 3-4 ft. tall and will need stakes to help them manage the weight of the huge flowers. They're ideal for sites that get full sun, and they adapt well to different soil types–from acidic and clay to loam and sandy soil. Lift in fall, zones 3-7. Zones 3-10.
