- Outstanding flavor, size and yields
- Produces large, juicy, firm berries
- Fruits have an intense flavor
- The standard for all red raspberries
- Very adaptable and well-suited for the South
Caroline is the best-tasting red raspberry we've found. The large berries have a very rich, sweet, full-bodied flavor. The firm and juicy berries are excellent for fresh eating, canning, freezing and for making jams, jellies, sauces, desserts and preserves. A fall-bearing type, it ripens in late summer and produces berries until frost. In many areas, that means you can pick berries for 6-8 weeks. Highly adaptable plants are 4-6 ft. tall when mature and can be grown almost anywhere, including in the South where the berries tend to ripen as early as June. Caroline is a highly productive self-pollinating variety that starts bearing fruit 2 years from the date of planting. It's tolerant to root rot and has a high resistance to gray mold. Zones 4-9.
