- Seldom offered Japanese native plant
- Showy double blooms are a rare sight
- Fall foliage adds color to late landscapes
- Leave undisturbed, once planted, for best results
This wisteria of a different color features seldom-offered blooms in a deep, dark shade of purple—and the flowers are fully double! Very rare and very beautiful, the blooms cover 20" long racemes for an extended period from late spring to midsummer. Long-lived Black Dragon adds plenty of drama to the landscape. Just give the vigorous plant a wall, arbor, fence or pergola to climb and wait for the beautiful, fragrant blooms to appear. Dense, green foliage turns bright golden yellow in fall. Best in part shade to full sun. Zones 5-9.
