(2 customer reviews)Most popular onion set you can grow! Gold color on the outside, mild flavor inside—a favorite for cooking. Big bulbs have papery skin, pale yellow flesh. Always crisp and delicious—a fine keeper. Approx. 60-75 sets per pint. This item ships only in the spring. If our spring shipping season is closed, your order will be shipped the following spring. They are very easy to grow and did not take much work. They are make great green onions and large onions as well. They have very strong flavor! - Sunday, January 22, 2012Pretty good Reviewed By: S (northeast, Missouri) I've planted these onions for 3 years now. By and large they are pretty good onions. They grow well and tolerate heat and humidity pretty good. Drought tolerant too without sacrificing flavor. They DO NOT like too much water. Last year I bought and planted 2 sets which gave me 4 rows. Of those 4 rows I had 3-5 in each row that had rotted in the ground. They store ok. We dried them out very well, stored them, and are still eating on them now in January. We eat them on/in everything we cook. I'm pleased with these and would recommend them. Read More Reviews |
