A Hint of Peach!
(6 customer reviews)Gurney's Choice U.S. Patent No. 10191. Winona Giant Junebearing Strawberry is our top-rated Junebearer! Large berries have a delicious sweet flavor with a hint of peach. Introduced by the Univ. of MN, Winona is cold tolerant and highly disease resistant. Zones: 4-7. Strawberries announce the arrival of summer, bearing juicy red fruits loaded with sweet flavor. They’re among the most versatile fruits you can grow, too-use them in pies, on shortcakes, in jams and jellies, or simply pluck them from the garden and enjoy! Any surplus is easy to freeze, too. After 3 days the new growth is starting off very good. The plants were healthy and well worth getting. I cannot wait until next year. to see how things go. I have ever berries coming this week and if they are anything like the ones I just got they will be a great addition to my garden. - Monday, June 08, 2009Very good looking plants Reviewed By: Grant McNary (Bonney Lake , Washington) I just received my strawberry plants and planted them right away. Reviewed By: Guy Hamernik (Rochester, MN) Last year I bought the Winona variety of strawberry (since I grew up in Winona.) This past summer, the 25 plants produced a cereal bowl of fruit per day - and some days as many as a quart mixing bowl! Production lasted for over 3 weeks. I gave some to family and neighbors, because they were coming faster than I could pick them. This was by far the most delicious and productive Gurney item I ever bought. I can't wait until summer!
