(9 customer reviews)Reliance Peach Trees are known for their hardiness. Plump, golden fruits are medium size with a red blush. Now considered primarily a canning variety. Newer varieties, such as Contender, equal it in hardiness and have much improved flavor. Ripens mid to late July. Peaches- members of the big Prunus genus-share similar traits. In addition to bearing sweet, juicy fruit, all of these stone fruits have beautiful springtime blossoms and attractive leaves, making them valuable landscaping trees.(Freestone) Zones 4-8. This Peach tree out grew and seem impervious to the insects and disease that are rampant on the apple trees. - Saturday, January 13, 2007State Fair Winner Reviewed By: Kathleen F (Richfield, Minnesota) After only 4 years, my dwarf Reliance Peach Tree from Gurney's produced such beautiful fruit, I won a MN State Fair Blue Ribbon. - Monday, January 29, 2007Unstopable! Reviewed By: Suzan Lamb (Animas, New Mexico) I chose this variety as we occasionally have late frosts. We planted it in the spring of '05, spring of '06 it blossomed and bore fruit. Most amazing of all was the ability of the blossoms to withstand our gale force spring winds, it was as though they were held on with super glue! Much potential fruit is lost every year due to frosts and winds but our two Reliance peach trees breezed through with out missing a lick! Thanks so much for this amazing tree!
