Easy to see and pick - but pick them early because the strings become quite prominent if they are allowed to mature. First bean I ever ate fresh and they had an excellent flavor. Cooked, they were kind of tough. - Thursday, December 10, 2009Like no other! Reviewed By: Larry Vaughn (Perry, Utah) Last year I didn't get seed ordered for the purple pod pole beans and decided to plant another locally available pole bean which was supposed to be "the best". Well, it wasn't! These purple podded pole beans beat them hands down. I just don't seem to have the patience to hunt through the foliage to find the beans and these purple pods make the hunting a thing of the past. I will only plant these beans in the future. Besides, they are great tasting beans. I like to eat them raw while I'm picking. - Thursday, October 29, 2009SWEET!!!! Reviewed By: Maryann (Gloversville, New York) Living in Upstate New york this past summer was all rain and very cool. I had SO MANY beans I could not believe it!! I had mine on bean towers and they grew Great! They were about the only thing in my garden that grew so well. I was picking beans every other day and they are so sweet. We are still enjoying them because they freeze so well. I will be ordering more. This time I am buying a pound! Read More Reviews |
