Tall spikes of pealike indigo blooms lift skyward in May and June. Clump-forming, intricately patterned foliage lends artistic beauty— 3 palmate leaves on branched stems. Attractive black seedpods add style to floral arrangements. Excellent in wildflower gardens or informal borders. Deer resistant.
Potted plants.

Zones 4-8.

Blue Baptisia
Reviewed By: Veronica Myers-Fuqua (Abbeville, Alabama)
These are so dainty and such a pretty blue. They look great mixed in with thicker stalked plants as they tend to droop when taller. They have come back in our zone 8 and look better the 2nd year after being planted. Mine are slightly taller then 2 feet tall on their 2nd year and after only growing back for 4 weeks now. I even forgot where I had planted two and they came up in mid April, I saw the beautiful blooms opening and was happy. They seem to withstand drought too, just don't bloom alot in the summer. The flowers are more of a pale purple rather then a blue with a tiny tiny bit of yellow near the bottom of each bloom. Don't buy just a few.
