Reviewed By: Jean Cilione (Katonah, N.Y.) I love blackberries which is why I bought these plants. Out of the first batch, none survived because they were sent too early to put in the ground (March and we always have snow then!) Of the replacements only one survived. After a whole summer of pampering, it looks pretty good. - Monday, August 27, 2007First Jumbo grow Reviewed By: Ed (Cleveland, Ohio) I bought 3 Black Satins in April, last year. Planted them in pots and got a great crop. Unfortunaly they didn't survive the winter. This year I bought 12 Jumbos, planted them in great soil and they grew like crazy! Only 1 produced berries. They were top shelf berries! Unless I missed something in the directions...thought these grew short. I trimmed them and still have 5 to 8 foot canes growing everywhere! Going to do some more research. If these Jumbos produce like the Black Satins did last year; I'll be up to my eyeballs in great berries. - Saturday, July 07, 2007Survived despite my best efforts Reviewed By: Wendi Strang-Frost (Manchester, Michigan) When my jumbo blackberries arrived they looked like little green sticks, too. I put them into a cooler to soak, but wound up soaking them a little longer than I meant to... I put them into a nursery bed in haste, and two out of the three survived. The survivers look quite happy and I'll be rewarding them with a permanent location this fall. Thanks Gurney's! Read More Reviews |
