Sugar Pearls Apricot Tree

The Most Heavenly Tasting Stone Fruit You Can Grow!

After tasting Sugar Pearls, we were at a loss for words to describe the full-bodied, sweet golden-honey flavor of this incredible white apricot. Totally unlike any apricot (or any other fruit for that matter) you’ve ever tasted, bursting with sun-sweetened nectar. It’s just too good to pass up! Can bear as quickly as a year after planting and blooms much later than all other apricot varieties—so even if you were too far north to grow apricots before—now’s your chance! Plant with Harlayne to ensure pollination. Ripens late June to early July. Zones 4-7. PP18639.

Standard apricots not available in CA, OR, WA. Semi-Dwarf apricots not available in OR.

This item ships only in the spring.
If our spring shipping season is closed, your order will be shipped the following spring.

excellent flavor

I planted this tree 3 years ago and it grew fast. This past spring, it was about 9 feet tall, it flowered profusely and set a lot of fruit. I thinned the fruit extensively and got lots of big, juicy, very sweet apricots in mid-summer. The biggest problem was fighting the squirrels for it. The tree is now growing about 4 feet per year and is loaded with lots of flower buds for next year. These are without doubt the best apricots I've ever tasted. I highly recommend this variety.

What I received was not what I expected. The bare root specimen is alive and with my ability and care will surely flourish over time. Time is the issue! This tree should have been grown for at least another year if not two before being offered for sale. My "tree" doesn't even qualify as a "whip" in nursery terms. The term "caliper" does not apply. Hopefully, mine was just an oversight and not typical of Gurney's tree offerings. I look forward to living long enough to write a very favorable review of an outstanding white apricot offered only by Gurney's Seed and Nursery. Note: I have been buying fruit trees from various sources for over forty years and have planted more than sixty trees in four different states as my company moved me around.
