The Black Walnut is a great health source in Walnuts. Bill Gillum, a Lumbee Tribe and Cherokee man of southeast Kentucky, was knowledgeable in Walnut Medicine and other alternative treatments from Native America. The Black Walnut has numerous internal and external health properties for man. We recommend it. May Bill Gullum rest in peace. June, 2008

Leaves!
Reviewed By: Paul Shelton (Bonners Ferry, Idaho)
We ordered 10 of the Black Walnut trees. I have to admit that the root stock looked pretty tough when I opened the box, One of the plantings was broken in half. Root stock should be individually wrapped for protection. However all the trees have leaves and seem to be doing well.

Really Thriving
Reviewed By: Holly Helmstetter (Antwerp, NY)
I got my 2 Black Walnut trees about 3 years ago. Although I'm in Zone 4, the trees are thriving, not growing fast but very thick and healthy, with large, glossy, fragrant leaves. In another 5 years I expect to be getting nuts. My shade trees (Maple) were badly damaged in the Ice Storm of '98, up here, and eventually will have to come down. I intend for the Black Walnuts to take their place for shade, and also provide food!
