Savannah Sweet Hybrid Onion produces large, extra sweet globes. Ideal for sandwiches, salads and onion rings. Good keeper, too. Short day. 160 DAYS.

For flavorful bulbs in a hurry, start with onion plants. You’ll harvest onion bulbs just 3 ˝ months after planting.

Tip: ‘Long-day onions’, better suited to the North, need 13+ hours of daylight for best development, while ‘short-day varieties’ need less and thrive in regions with a mild winter climate.

Days To Maturity: 160 days
Comments: Early short day onion. Uniform, thick flat shape with small necks. Golden yellow globes that have great holding retention when compared to other yellow granex types. Sweet tasting flesh that is ideal for onion rings or to sweet'n any burger or sandwich. One of the best onions to grow if your interested in large size onions.

Bulbed up and harvested late May--not very sweet yet, but hopefully will increase that quality in storage, as so many of this type do.....will definitely try this variety again next year...(and the squirrels didn't eat them......)

I harvested these onions a month ago. If you following the instuctions sent with the plants you will have a nice sweet, yet spicy onion!!! Very tasty!!!
