Helene Rose-of-Sharon is an old-fashion favorite in a newer, improved form! These outstanding varieties produce huge, clear-colored flowers nonstop through summer and into fall. Lustrous dark green leaves remain attractive all season. Thrive in heat, humidity, drought and even poor soils. At 6-8 ft. tall, they make a wonderful flowering hedge or screen. Can be pruned to form beautiful small trees. Plant in full sun.

Comments: Remarkable frost and pollution tolerant. Does best in full sun. Will tolerate light shade, but will not flower as well. An outstanding triploid introduced by the late Dr. Egolf at the National Arboretum. Huge, clear-colored flowers with overlapping petals are produced continually throughout the summer and fall with no lapse. The foliage shows none of the yellowing in mid-summer that is typical of diploid Hibiscus. The lustrous dark-green leaves remain on the plant well into fall. This variety is also noted for its compact growth habit, ease of culture, and reliability. An all around winner of great beauty. It may be pruned up to make a small tree.
