I stumbled across this fantastic plant by accident. It is so hardy during the summer. It flowered all summer until the frost got it. I used it as an annual. Zone 5 but it didnt make it in MN

disappointed

I planted 6 of the ice plant in rich soil in May. It spread rapidly and had beautiful green succulent leaves and bright pink flowers until October. But every plant died in winter. None came up next spring. I was disappointed. This is an annual in zone 4, not a perennial.

Tricky but prolific

Just like the other reviewers, I thought my ice plants had died over the winter, so I pulled out the remains. To my amazement, as June began to wane, ice plants began showing up everywhere I'd tossed the "remains." They've taught me to believe their dead looking remains for true dead.
