Hugh Fruit - Big as a Quarter

  (2 customer reviews)

U.S. Patent No. 11865. Apache Blackberries produce jumbo-size fruits with jumbo-size flavor! Extra-fertile flowers so you get more berries that are perfectly formed. Canes stand erect and are thornless. Disease resistant. Ripens mid to late June.
No. 1, 1-year plants. U.S. Patent No. 11865.

At the supermarket, a handful of raspberries or blackberries can cost $5 or more. But why pay those premium prices when you can harvest baskets of these flavor-filled berries for fresh-eating, jams and desserts right from you own backyard? For easiest harvest and to reduce the risk of fungal disease, provide some types of support for the canes. A simple wire trellis set between posts often adequate. Cut spent canes to the ground after they finish fruiting.

Beautiful Thornless Blackberries
Reviewed By: Noemi  (New Castle, PA)
I just ordered for the first time last year. These just arrived this spring, planted right away. The first month blackberries looked like twigs, but during the second month they've bud & bloomed. Apache Blackberries have double in size, very pleased. Already planning a longer list for next year's order.

Very Large Blackberry
Reviewed By: Peggy (Boaz, KY)
These berries are easy to grow. Mine are only two years old and I had about a gallon off of two plants. The berries are larger than my thumb and very sweet. The only negative-which is why I didn't give it a five- is because the large berries have large seeds that are hard. The flavor is wonderful and the size can't be beat. They also bear over about a 6 to 8 week period or at least mine did this year.
