Keeps Its Fantastic Flavor All Winter!
(2 customer reviews)U.S. Patent No. 9392 One of the best tasting apples ever! The Goldrush Apple Tree keeps in the refrigerator until June of the year following harvest. Retains crisp texture and, like a fine wine, Goldrush flavor gets even better with time. Exceptional for fresh eating, out of this world for pies and cider! Quick to bear, good disease resistance. A real winner! Now you can grow delicious, full-size apples no matter how small your garden! Imagine picking 1/2 bushel or more apples from each of your Li’l-BIG trees just a few years after planting them in the ground! If you have limited space or simply want a little tree with big benefits, Li'l-BIG is for you. Reaching 6 ft. tall at the most and producing half a bushel of fruit, Li'l-BIG are a snap to spray, prune and harvest compared to standard size trees. Zones: 5-8. U.S. Patent No. 9392. Reviewed By: Suzan Lamb (Animas, New Mexico) I planted my Gold Rush tree in the spring of '07 and just as advertised, it bore early! This fall I picked two Wal-Mart bags full to overflowing with the best tastin' apples around! I dehydrated nine trays full, froze two one gallon freezer bags, and made a jumbo sized apple crisp out of the rest. Dehydrated, they made really sweet snacks, frozen, they held their firmness, and the apple crisp was gone before I knew it. One thing I noticed this year when my five apple trees began to bear is that my green apples were never bothered by the birds or wasps as were the two red apples. I guess it stands to reason that the birds and insects are mainly attracted to fruit that's red in color and appears ripe to them. All in all, the tree is sturdy and bears well and I absolutely must have another one, the best praise of all! - Monday, January 25, 2010Best Tasting Pie Apple Reviewed By: Tim A. (Wilmington, NC) I have the dwarf version of the Goldrush, and can't expect much fruit after just one year in the ground. The single fruit I harvested from this tree last fall had the best taste for a pie apple I have ever experienced. I'm looking forward to years of great fruit from this one. Read More Reviews |
