Cottonless Cottonwood Tree
Cottonless Cottonwood Tree
Hardy, Without any Cotton

  (4 customer reviews)

Super shade tree. Fast-growing to 75 ft. Resists leaf rust. Cottonless Cottonwood adapts to many soil types. Lacks the annoying litter of common cottonwood. Plant 8 ft. apart.

Windbreakers protect farm buildings, feed lots and orchards from heavy sows and icy winds. They prevent erosions of valuable topsoil, reduce heating costs, cut down on snow removal, shelter livestock and provide a winter wildlife refuge.

Bareroot. Zones 3-8.

Great Tree
Reviewed By: Tom (Cherryville, NC)
Purchased 5 of these this spring. They were about 4 feet. They are now over 5 feet and doing well. I have not planted them yet and they are growing great in just the buckets. I just did as the instructions said and they are growing well.

Cottonless in the desert
Reviewed By: M. Keane (Gilbert, Arizona)
I planted a Cottonless Cottonwood about four years ago. It was about 6' tall from the nursery and is now about 20' tall and fortunately fairly narrow as we don't have very wide side yards. It needs minimal irrigation for the desert. The leaves provide shade in the summer, and allow the sun to warm the house when they drop off in late fall. -Not sure how tall it will get in our climate.

Suckers
Reviewed By: Geni (Westwood, California)
Tree and roots produce lots of suckers, good only in LARGE areas where it won't be a problem, bad in small to mid size yards.
