It’s no wonder sunflowers are so easy to grow- these magnificent flowers are American natives. Use smaller types for cutting and edging, taller ones for screens. At the end of the season, watch for goldfinches, who love the seed!

Water well during dry weather and mulch to reduce weeds. Some of these varieties are annuals and reseed themselves each year. Others are perennials and come back every year. This mix contains 8% each gypsophillia elegans, California poppy, Rocket larkspur, scarlet and clue flax, lance-leaf coreopsis and purple coneflower; 4% each meadow daisy, wild and Sulpher cosmos, perennial lupine and gaillardia; 2% each baby blue eyes, farewell-to-spring, none-so-pretty, rose mallow, Siberian wallflower, Gloriosa daisy, sweet William, dame's rocket, Mexican hat and bird's foot trefoul, and 1% each Shirley poppy, Dwarf Red Plains coreopsis, sunflower and black-eyes Susan.
