Resists Drought and Disease
(3 customer reviews)Great flavor in firm, 8-ounce crack-free fruits describes the Celebrity Hybrid (VFFNT) Tomato. Performs well in almost every region and under adverse conditions. Good blight tolerance and foliage cover. Determinate. 72 DAYS. Tomatoes offer so many delicious possibilities-slice them, sauce them, can them, or turn them into salsa! Selection Tip: when choosing varieties, keep in mind that “determinates” ripen over 3-4 weeks on bushy vines that usually need no staking. “Indeterminate” vines continue to grow and produce fruit all season until frost. The large vines need support. Product Details

Yes. Prolific producer? Absolutely. Disease resistant? Not on your life. I have four plants in the same bed and this was the first to blight. In fact, the only other tomato to Blight was my San Francisco Fog and I am pretty sure it is because it was so close to the Celebrity. What a disappointment to see all these beautiful tomatoes dying on the branches, and I have not the heart to remove this five foot tall plant. - Thursday, August 21, 2008large meaty tomato Reviewed By: Melody (Greenfield, IN) This is my first year growing these, started them indoors in march the vines are about 4' tall and I pulled off a large tomato yesterday that weighed in at 1lb on my kitchen scale. Produces well and large fleshy tomatoes. - Thursday, August 28, 2008Best Canner Reviewed By: Todd (Raymond, NE) I planted a variety of tomatoes this year-from heirlooms to hybrids, and was most happy with Celebrity. It was the best for canning. They were uniform and easy to work with. I did not have a problem with them cracking like the heirlooms. Read More Reviews |
