Beans are one of your best bets for yield and versatility. A 15- foot row of pole beans will produce about 12 pounds of beans over a 6 to 8 week period. Grows green snap, wax and lima beans for fresh eating, freezing and canning.

I have grown beans for many years now, normally bush beans, I thought I would try pole beans once, I'm very sorry I did, I live in zone 4 and I couldn't get these beans to take off for nothing, I normally have more beans then I know what to do with, I think for the 20 seeds I planted I ended up with maybe 2 dozen beans, I will be going back to the push beans.

I planted seeds that were a year old because my daughter didn't use all of them the year before. I had great germination by planting indoors early, planted a 50' row. With a short growing season in the Pacific Northwest, I still got over 100 pounds of beans. They are best when picked young, and need to be stringed before cooking or canning. They are delicious!

First summer I have planted pole bean and these are great beans! They were a summer long producer and the quality of the beans were great. Yes, they were stringy, but if you string the beans when snapping them, it's not a big deal. They froze excellent and remained crisp and tasty even after 4+ months of being in the freezer.
