The Japanese Yew Hedge is a lush evergreen which is handsome winter or summer with its short, waxy needles and orange berries in late summer. Reaches a mature 10- to 20-foot height, clips to a neatly manicured 2-3 feet. Thrives in sun or shade. 4- to 6-inch plants.
Hedges divide a yard into separate spaces for outdoor entertaining, for gardening and for setting off a stretch of lawn. They are far more attractive then fencing and much less expensive.
