![]() Nikko Blue Hydrangea
Produces Puffy Blooms as Big as Volleyballs
(2 customer reviews)Huge, 9-in. flowers in stunning, all-out bloom throughout summer. Full and fluffy, they load the foliage—a glorious display of color. Branches bow under the sheer weight of the blossoms. Adaptable size for landscaping— grows 3-5 ft. tall. Best planted in full to partial sun. (NOTE: If Nikko flowers do not look truly blue, add aluminum sulfate to your soil—alkaline conditions turn Nikko pink.) Potted Plant. Zones 5-9. Product Details

Its name is somewhat deceiving though because in soils with a pH higher than 6.5 the blooms are pink instead of blue. - Monday, January 21, 2008Nikko Blues Reviewed By: Loretta (Mt. Rainier, MD) This plant must be a true Nikko Blue... I have never had a Nikko Blue turn pink. First bud are green. As flowers get bigger they turn blue and finally a maroon/mauve color when they die. (Great for dry arrangements) Read More Reviews |
